Yet Again!!
Rafael Nadal bet Federer in yet another grand-slam final. After having played a marathon five-setter in the semis, Rafa came back to play a classic final against his rival, former champion Federer. As Verdasco pointed after his semis match against Rafa, ' You need to win the point three times more than with all the others', Federer tried to match Nadal point-by-point. But it was not enough at the end. We have to wait and see how many grand-slam finals Federer has to play against Rafa before winning the record- equalling fourteenth one!!

World in 2009
Barrack Obama is all set to take the reigns from George Bush after a 8-year disastrous campaign by the latter. The entire world is looking at him to come out of the troubled waters.
Israel is attacking Gaza strip once again, killing lots of innocent people. With just a few weeks left for transfer of power in US, Bush is showing the final traces of what he is capable of - lending a supporting hand for the 'War against terror'.
The World is moving deep into the recession which may last atleast for another year. Lots of stimulus packages have been announced to save the troubled companies. But then, world will never be the same again!! Companies like Lehman brothers are history now.
Tension is mouting between India and pakistan after the Mumbai terror attacks. India is trying all the means to put pakistan under pressure. Pakisan has to act positively or else face the consequences this time.
Srilankan army is waging war against the tamil tigers. They claim that they have captured killinochchi, the unofficial capital of LTTE. But as history suggests, the tigers may come back vey strongly at the srilankan army which could atleast serve as a morale-booster for the next-generation tigers. Infact, the response by tigers is ominous - a suicide attack near the Air force headquarters in colombo.
The world seems to be chaotic everywhere. This reminds me about the popular saying by Rabindranath Tagore in Geetanjali:
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
Lets hope that the world would be a much better place to live in the days to come.
