India won the first test against England by 6 wickets. They have successfully chased the fourth highest target in the fourth innings in the history of test cricket, thanks to a well-composed innings from sachin and who was well supported by yuvraj from the other side.
But, I should appreciate the spirit of England cricketers who have come all the way after the mumbai blasts. Infact, they have donated half of their match fee to the victims of the blast. Our cricket captain Dhoni has donated his match-fee from both the matches for the same cause. And on the other side, our little master has dedicated this victory to all the blast victims. What a generous soul he has!!!( I am not sure what would he have done if we had drawn or lost this match). Considering the multi-million dollar endorsements he makes and kind of security he needs, is that all he can do?? The cash-rich BCCI also donated 3 crores for the same cause. But, I would appreciate them because its better late than never.
When I was young, karnam Malleswari won a bronze medal in the sydney olympics. Cash awards were poured on her from all quarters. And more recently, Abinav Bindra made a fortune after winning the first-ever individual medal by an Indian in olympics. Corporates think that he/she is an investment which deceased officers like Late Hemant Karkare or any NSG commando can never be!! People must realise atleast now that the true heroes can be NSG commandos or the high-spirited England cricketers but not our cricketing legends.
